ABOUT THE AUTHOR

oh hey there, I'm brenna.

It looks like a native american symbol with arrows pointing in opposite directions.

Welcome to my little corner of the interwebs! I'm Brenna M. Keenan, a debut adult fantasy writer. I'm passionate about creating imagery that immerses readers into the scenes, complex character arcs and growth, and of course, magic. I like to incorporate the harder aspects of love and devotion within my writing—creating emotional connections that make for unforgettable characters. My books are full of hope, adventure, and slow-burn romance. My hope is that within my writing, you'll smile, laugh, and cry—but more than anything, inspire you to be true to yourself.

I'm a coffee fiend, owner of two wonderful rescue dogs and a short bus camper conversion named Monty, a killer of plants (though I try so hard), and a coveted book and record dragon!

"The DEPTHS OF HEL"

ALL THE PROMISES WE CANNOT KEEP: AN RHS ANTHOLOGY

A black and white image of a line of arrows on a white background.

In a world overshadowed by ancient curses and treacherous gods, young Eydís is thrust into a perilous quest to retrieve the Flame of the Sea; a relic sought after by the vengeful sea god Aegir. Hidden deep within the Hel realm and serving as his tribe’s bargaining chip to once again roam the seas freely, its chilling magic burns as fiercely as fire itself. Forced into the company of an Oceanid, humanity’s sworn enemy and one of Aegir’s creations, Roth is unfamiliar with life on land and none too happy to accompany the enigmatic human on this impossible quest.

As they confront the ferocious Garm, a monstrous guardian of Hel, Eydís and Roth must set grudges aside and work together to survive the ancient evils lurking around them. Unraveling the mysteries of the Ironwood Forest while grappling with themes of trust, betrayal, and sacrifice, Eydís is faced with the weight of history pushing down upon him. Will the bond between land and sea be enough to break the chains of their fate, or will they succumb to the wrath of the gods? Dive into a gripping tale of forced friendship, courage, and the struggle against the dark tides of broken promises in The Depths of Hel.

A book is surrounded by leaves and cups on a table.

"Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real."
