About the author

I'm a wandering soul, calling so many places throughout the United States home, but my true home will always be with my partner and our two furbabies. Moody tones and themes make my heart sing, and I thrive in front of a crackling fire, with the sounds of the rain soothing every thought alongside a good book.

The cold is where I feel most at home, crunching through a snowy hike and feeling fresh mountain air moving through my lungs. I find inspiration for my writing in nature, letting it fuel the fantasy worlds I crave to bring to life for readers.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy sweating through home workouts, traveling, dancing to new music, antiquing, finding forgotten small towns, and being outdoors to ground myself in our world's beauty.

behind the words

What inspires me:

Nature: Our extensive hiking and traveling opens a world of imagination and creativity stemming from the natural world. I find peace and solitude in nature that I always bring into my novels.

Music: Finding new music is more than just a pastime; within music, I create scenes, dialogue, and epic battles that I thrust to the page in time with the score playing through my headphones.

Long-Drives: Driving brings new themes and thoughts to my writing, inspiring narratives through the quietude and silence that only a long drive can provide.

Mythology: I've loved mythology since I was younger, gravitating first to Greek mythology. As my research grew, so did my interests into Norse mythology and themes that match my Viking heritage.

Q&A

  • What themes do you write about?

I'm a sucker for slow-burn romances and will often incorporate those themes into my writing alongside strong female characters, female empowerment, hierarchal power dynamics, mythology and deities, elemental power, and folklore.

  • What time of day do you prefer to write?

I'm a night owl, I love to write at night when the world is quieter and I have the space to truly be lost in a fantasy world of my own creation.

  • What are some of your favorite books/authors?

The MaasVerse, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Powerless by Lauren Roberts, Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross, Red Queen Series, Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, Ella Minnow Pea, Twilight Series, just to name a few.

  • What got you started as an author?

Why Be an Author?  Why not? I dreamed of being an author since I was a teenager, but it was never a pathway I thought I could pursue in a realistic sense. I began writing the lore that inspired "The Courage Heart of the Deep" when I was fifteen years old, alongside an awful start to a manuscript (we live, learn. and grow!) My love for mythology and dreams of being a mermaid brought on the idea for the series (TBD) and the world.   Within that, it was in 2022 that I seriously thought of pursuing writing and finally following my childhood dream. Shortly after, I found the amazing Red Herring Society group for authors than gave me the courage to dream big and get published—with my first publication in the form of my short story within the RHS Anthology in December 2023 and finishing my first ever manuscript in February 2024.  My why is simple—I have stories to share, and no matter how many people read them, I know that they have the potential to evoke emotion that we can only get through reading.
